The Ship, Stevington, Bedfordshire

Stevington is an unusual village in that it can still boast two pubs. At one time this was not unusual but the country pub is now an endangered species. The Ship used to be a tied house (Charles Wells) and after being reported as up for closure in the local press it has been re-incarnated as a free house. The pub is located on the road leading South from the village centre cross roads.

Being a free house they serve a range of Real Ales and the prices are higher than the alternative in the village, the Red Lion. The Ship does have a small garden, a strip of grass with tables and chairs next to the car park.

This is one of the two pubs in Stevington where you can borrow the keys to Stevington Windmill for a hefty deposit.

If you want to sit outdoors with a drink then the Green King owned Red Lion is a better choice with a large and well kept garden.
